Europe Day 6: Vienna, Austria

KJ found a thermometer in his bag and decided to check his temperature. To our surprise, it showed 38 degrees—he had a fever. He needed rest, so he quickly washed up without a full bath, took two Panadols, and collapsed into bed. I told him, "If you're still unwell tomorrow, we can hold off on exploring Vienna. You can rest at the hotel and recover before we move on."

The following day became a full rest day. I only stepped out to grab lunch and dinner for KJ—no sightseeing, no filming, and no photos.

We were staying at the a&o Wien Hauptbahnhof, similar to the one in Munich—no kettle and no hot water in the room. I turned to Google to find a place with hot soup to help KJ feel better. Thankfully, I found Magic Noodle, not far from the hotel, serving piping hot soup. After having it, KJ felt much better. This was his first experience with a real winter, and it was hitting him hard.

As for our stay at a&o Wien Hauptbahnhof, two nights cost SGD$157.33 for both of us, including taxes and fees, but without breakfast. To add to the experience, our room had a faint smell of an old ashtray. Lesson learned: pack air freshener next time.

For our 2022 Europe trip, we spent an incredible 12 days exploring the beautiful countries of Germany, the Czech Republic, and Austria. Here’s a day-by-day rundown of how we organized our adventure across these three captivating destinations.
